Meet Our Team

Stuart Holt, Founder, President and CEO

Prior to founding The Evangelism Institute (TEI), Stuart Holt co-founded and built up Response Marketing Group (RMG), one of the largest privately owned direct response marketing companies in the U.S.

In 1998, Stuart and his partner sold Response Marketing Group to Snyder Communications, becoming part of BrannWorldwide, the largest marketing firm in the world. One year after selling RMG to Snyder Communications, Stuart decided to retire and fully commit his time to philanthropic work.

In 1999 Stuart founded The Evangelism Institute to study, research and teach Christians how to increase their joy and excitement by sharing their faith with confidence and gentleness.  Stuart has always had a heart for helping Christians enjoy the adventure of seeing God at work in their lives and through effective communication of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Stuart came to Christ in 1971 while attending Virginia Tech. While there, he was very involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After college, his first job was with InterVarsity Press traveling across America promoting the IV Press books.

Currently, Stuart lives with his wife Stephanie and two sons (Stuart and Stephen) in Richmond, Virginia. He is a long-time church member of West End Presbyterian Church where he is an ordained deacon, leader, supporter and teacher. In his spare time, Stuart is an avid golfer.

Becky Winfree, Office Administrator

Becky joined TEI in March 2007 in our client service and administrative areas.

After growing up in a globe-trotting military family, Becky landed at Virginia Tech and received a B.S. and M.S. in Clothing and Textiles.  At Virginia Tech she met Stuart Holt and her future husband, Ambrose Winfree (TEI Board member and First Love author).

Ambrose and Becky have 3 grown daughters, Noelle, Sarah, and Laura.  While raising her daughters, Becky spent 15 years operating her own home sewing business making draperies and other home furnishing items.  She also worked part-time for 5 years as an administrator in a financial planning office.

Becky is an original member of the 23 year old congregation at All Saints Reformed Presbyterian Church.  She has taught Sunday School and organized many church fellowship events through the years.  She belongs to a women's Bible study group that has been meeting for over 25 years and has been its leader for many of those years.  Past and future mission trips to Uganda are close to her heart.

In her spare time, Becky enjoys keeping up with family, sewing, reading, and attempting to learn new moves on her ice skates.
